Professor Fang Jiye of Binghamton University, State University of New York came to our college to communicate
On November 21st, Professor Fang Jiye of Binghamton Branch of State University of New York came to our college for an academic communication at the invitation of Waste Resources Utilization research group of our college. The Professor delivered a report “The Study of Pt-based Nanocrystalline: Crystal Lattice Control and Synthesis”. In this report, the Professor talked about the latest research achievements in nano-materials.
After the academic report, Professor Fang Jiye and Professor Liu Huie as well as other teachers students in the research group discussed how to choose the direction of scientific research, how to teach students and guide their research. In addition, Professor Fang took part in the thesis proposal presentation by postgraduates in the research group and put forwards valuable suggestions for students’ thesis study, feasibility analysis and innovations. This academic communication was subsidized by the Project of Inviting High-end Foreign Experts in 2014. Professor Fang Jiye, from Binghamton Branch of State University of New York, mainly studies Inorganic solid catalytic materials, the synthesis of inorganic nano-materials and their physical properties. In recent five years, Professor Fang has been responsible for a series of scientific research projects such as Outstanding Young Scholars Program by National Science Foundation, and United States Department of Energy and National Science Foundation and some other large projects by enterprises. Also he published more than 100 SCI academic papers of high level as the first author or corresponding author. Besides, he published 43 papers on journals and magazines like Angew. Chem, J. Am. Chem. Soc. and Nano Lett. His paper which introduces the production of nanometer catalyst with controllable crystal and the new application of fuel cell was voted as one of 20 papers that had been quoted the mostly. He has been invited to participate in American and international meetings for over 40 times.
