Dr. Peter Halley, the head of the University of Queensland School of Chemical Engineering and expert of polymer materials, and international relations officer Grace Li made a visit to the UPC on march 13th. The two sides discussed joint program and other issues in the meeting room of the Engineering Building A. Fang Huang, the deputy deanof College of Chemical Engineering,and other person attended the meeting.
In the meeting, Fang Huang made a brief introduction of the College of Chemical Engineering in history, majors, faculties, discipline construction, scientific research and so on. Dr. Peter Halley also introduced the research highlights, professional development prospects, school-enterprise cooperation and teaching and research environment of the University of Queensland. The two sides had reached broad consensus on the CSC international exchange program for outstanding undergraduate students, 3+1+X joint program and so on, and try to push forward the level of cooperation and communication between the two universities.
After the meeting, Dr. Peter Halley delivered a lecture named “Modified starch polymers and blends for packaging, industrial an biomedical applications”, and highlight developments of bio based polymers at UQ. The professors, doctors and postgraduates, who were in the related fields of CCE, also listened to the lecture.
