The seminar on catalytic materials and nano-catalysts was successfully held in China University of Petroleum (East China) from August 25 to August 28 in the year of 2017. Some teachers and students from State Key Laboratory of Heavy Oil, Energy Institute of Beijing University of Chemical Technology were invited to the conference, also with more than 100 experts and postgraduates from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China University of Mining and Technology, Ocean University of China, Shandong University of Science and Technology, Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, UOP, some research institute and enterprises.

Professor Sun Xiaoming from Beijing University of Chemical Technology who is the top scientists in the field of electro-catalysis and nanomaterials, adjunct professor as well as the winners of outstanding Youth Fund and professor Yan Zifeng of our school were invited to deliver speeches respectively and made introductions on the two schools’ research area in the field of catalytic materials. Besides, eight Young Investigator of this field including associate professor Feng Xiang, Jin Xin, Dong Bin, Zeng Jingbin, Qin Zhengxing, Liu Zhen, Wang Youhe and Bai Peng were invited to make presentations, and fifteen students made oral reports. The conference included five topics and twenty-six reports such as the design of catalyst surface and structure,   the preparation and catalytic performance of molecular sieve, the fabrication and application of novel carbon materials and nanoarrays, the design and preparation of catalysts with high efficiency for decomposition of water, providing a chance for communicating the novel improvement of research on catalytic materials and nano-catalysts.

As Professor Sun Xiaoming pointed on the closing ceremony, this seminar brought new sights to all the participants, promoted academic exchange, and further enhanced the cooperation between Beijing University of Chemical Technology and China University of Petroleum.
