The pre-kickoff meeting of Malaysia’s summer school for outstanding talents was successfully held in conference room 119, Block A on the afternoon of August 17. All the teachers and students who are going to Malaysia attended the meeting.

First, the counselor Yang Yifan introduced detailed schedule for the team that are to visit University Technology PETRONAS for the International Summer School Program to make a study tour. Then, Yang Yifan made a request to all the members from three aspects of good image, precious opportunity and safety. She stressed that the teachers and students in Malaysia shouldered important task of visiting, they must have a sense of responsibility and glory, pay close attention to their behaviors and improve the overall awareness to build good image of the motherland, school and college. At the same time, safety must be put in the first place by improving the ability to distinguish between right and wrong, always paying attention to the safety of property, transportation and food. At last, Yang Yifan expressed the hope that all the teachers and students could get a lot from this activity by enhancing the cultural exchanges and mutual sharing of learning.

Finally, the teacher Yao Chuanjin introduced the experience of study and life abroad and encouraged students to experience more exchanges. He hoped that this experience could broad the students’ horizon by learning about the research situation of universities in Malaysia and carrying out academic, cultural exchanges.

It is understood that this Malaysia’s summer school project for outstanding undergraduates had been conducted successfully for two years, two teachers and twelve students from the school of chemical engineering, petroleum engineering and pipeline and civil engineering were chose by a compiled selection of the international cooperation and exchange division and the college. They would leave for Malaysia on August 18 for a 15-day visit and the exchange feelings and results would be reported after the project was completed. The college of chemical engineering have been engaged in improving the level of internationalization, promoting foreign exchange and building kinds of communication platforms for the better development of teachers and students.
