From July 1 to 5, a delegation led by vVice dean Zeng Jingbin visited Saudi Arabia's King Abdulaziz Academy of Sciences (KACST) and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) to promote the construction of China-Saudi Arabia Joint Laboratory for Petroleum and Energy (hereinafter referred to as the "Belt and Road" Joint Laboratory). Explore cooperation with KACST, KAUST and other research institutions and universities to establish research projects and talent training. Professor Yan Zifeng, Professor Qiao Yingyun and Associate Professor Zhang Jinhong from the college accompanied the visit.
During the visit to King Abdulaziz Academy of Sciences (KACST), Zeng Jingbin and Zhang Jinhong respectively introduced the basic situation, main research directions and research achievements of the Institute. Dr. Afrah M. Aldossari, director of the Institute of Petrochemical Engineering, and other experts listened to the report and expressed their appreciation and showed strong interests in cooperation. During the visit, the delegation visited the entrepreneurship incubator base and engineering laboratory of KACST.
At King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Professor Kuo-Wei Huang, Vice President of the University, Professor Zhi-Ping Lai and Professor Hua-Bin Zhang from Department of Chemical Sciences held a discussion with Zeng Jingbin, and the two sides reached a preliminary consensus on cooperation in scientific research projects, joint training of talents, and teacher exchange. Subsequently, a meeting of young talents was held, attracting many outstanding doctors and postdocs to participate. Zeng introduced the school's talent recruitment policy, distributed promotional materials on talent recruitment policy, and answered questions from young scholars on site.
